St Elizabeth East Steel Window Restoration
Steel Window Restoration, Door Restoration, Architectural Woodwork Restoration
The project encompassed the restoration of 7 buildings and 4 building connector corridors. The restoration initiative included refurbishing 1800 steel windows and window grills, as well as fabricating metal guard rails for the historic porch and exterior wood cornice restoration. All windows were meticulously restored in place, involving the removal of glass and finishes using sponge blast media. Subsequently, windows were repaired, primed, painted, and equipped with nearly 50,000 panes of glass. In cases where windows were inoperable, new springs were installed to replace historic strapping. Furthermore, grills were carefully blasted and repainted to complete the restoration process.
